Online Learning at GW

The Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering is one of the oldest and largest departments of its kind in the nation, with over 1,200 students at varying levels of study. 20% of these students are completing their courses of study entirely online – a testament to the accessibility and practicality of our online learning platform.

We strive to offer students from all over the world access to the world-class faculty, pioneering research, and spirit of exploration that defines GW as a leading institution. Beyond that, we’re committed to supporting online students as they pursue their education and welcoming them to the GW academic community. Online students are connected to all of the resources available to our on-campus students, including:

    • The Center for Career Services
The center offers a wide range of individualized and customized career services, including a robust coaching program, convenient online resume and interview critique programs, and a wealth of diverse events and workshops targeted to the career needs of our students, including students with disabilities, military and veteran students, international students and alumni.
    • Division of Information Technology
Supports students in the areas of accounts, email and calendar, network and internet access, web and collaboration, software and business apps, communications, backup and storage, research computing, and training. Students can also submit a tech service request.
    • GWiz
The GWiz knowledge base is a resource that allows GW community members to access self-service knowledge about technology and assistance with the Division of IT’s services. You may browse the site’s categories for specific knowledge by using the “Select a Browse Category,” or search the entire database by doing a keyword search.
